JOIN THE RESISTANCE.
In 1939, reporter Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow) and flying ace Joe Sullivan (Jude Law), who once dated, reluctantly join forces to track down the evil genius who sent an army of robots marching on New York. Director Kerry Conran’s debut is a dream come true for him, an old-fashioned adventure flick with entirely computer-animated environs. Perhaps the actors hated making the film, considering the green screen, and they’re the greatest asset here, but the film opens with that exciting robot attack and is fun until the overheated ending; the story may be old, but the movie looks stunning.
