Four terrorists wanted to turn flight 93 into a weapon. Forty brave passengers and crew stopped it from reaching its target.
A TV movie that had the misfortune of airing the same year as the vastly superior feature film United 93 opened in theaters. Both movies detailed the events that took place on one of the four planes that were hijacked on September 11th, 2001; the flight is the one where the passengers attacked the hijackers and prevented the plane from reaching the terrorists’ target. It’s all believable and well acted by a cast of largely unknowns; the scenes where the relatives speak to passengers on the plane are moving. But, as we know, it can be done more powerfully.
2006-U.S. Made for TV. 89 min. Color. Directed by Peter Markle. Cast: Jeffrey Nordling (Tom Burnett), Brennan Elliott (Todd Beamer), Kendall Cross (Deena Burnett), Ty Olsson, Monnae Michaell, Colin Glazer.
