V: The Final Battle

vfinalbattleThe resistance against the alien visitors grows stronger but the group needs a breakthrough; meanwhile, Robin’s (Blair Tefkin) affair with an alien officer has startling effects. The sequel to V (1983) was abandoned by the original writer, Kenneth Johnson, but this miniseries has its exciting ingredients. Diana’s intrigues are amusing, the cast is engaging (with Michael Ironside a hard-boiled addition to it) and the battles between the visitors and the humans look very good. However, the subplot involving Robin’s pregnancy is little more than an interesting idea; the alien puppet featured in the birth scene is ridiculous.

1984-U.S. Made for TV. 260 min. Color. Directed by Richard T. Heffron. Cast: Marc Singer (Mike Donovan), Jane Badler (Diana), Faye Grant (Julie Parrish), Michael Ironside, Michael Durrell, Blair Tefkin, Michael Wright… Robert Englund.

Trivia: Originally shown in three parts.
