PUT THIS IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT.
When process server and stoner Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) accidentally witnesses a murder, he and his drug dealer (James Franco) take it on the lam. This surprisingly hilarious comedy offers the same buddy-buddy ingredients as in co-writer Judd Apatow’s own movies and fuses them successfully with what might be described as a satire of 1980s action-comedies; plenty of blood and action, but so outrageously done that one can’t help laugh. Much of the material is familiar, but there’s a constant barrage of funny jokes and the casting is perfect; Rogen has rarely been better and Franco hits the right note as the dealer who’s desperate for a real friend.

Quote: “It’s weed, it’s a joint, it’s a roach. I thought it was decriminalized. To be honest with you, I have horrible anorexia and it helps my appetite. I’m so sorry.” (Rogen explaining his joint to a cop)
Last word: “We took from many different movies. I’m a big fan of ‘’80s action movies – Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Paul Verhoeven, ‘Tango & Cash’. I was definitely influenced by those. I don’t love a lot of weed movies out there, I gotta say. They don’t speak to people who don’t smoke weed. They also don’t generally function as actual movies.” (Rogen, Fandango)
