Wrath of the Titans

Years after defeating the Kraken, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is living a quiet life with his son as a fisherman when his father (Liam Neeson) comes to tell him that he needs his help saving the world once again. This sequel to Clash of the Titans (2010) has better 3D effects, an amusing performance by Bill Nighy and wisely gives the appealing Rosamund Pike plenty of room as Andromeda, but it is still a letdown. There are fewer exciting set pieces (except for a fun clash with cyclops) and the second half, with a fiery Kronos, lacks spark.

2012-U.S. 99 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Jonathan Liebesman. Cast: Sam Worthington (Perseus), Liam Neeson (Zeus), Ralph Fiennes (Hades), Edgar Ramirez, Toby Kebbell, Rosamund Pike… Lily James, Bill Nighy, Danny Huston.

Trivia: James’s first film. Javier Bardem and James Franco were allegedly considered for roles.
