Mom needs a little space.
When his mom is kidnapped by Martians, nine-year-old Milo stows away on their spaceship as it’s leaving Earth; on the red planet he finds a partner in his quest to save his mother. This 3D mo-cap animated flick was a surprise bomb, which must have worried co-producer Robert Zemeckis who put so much stock in this technology. Parts of the film look beautiful, some of the character design less so. Spirited performances (especially from Dan Fogler) and a good score are a plus, but the story never flies even though there’s a lot of action.
