A very short while ago, news broke that Oscar-winning actress Celeste Holm has passed away at the age of 95. I started looking for a clip from Gentleman’s Agreement (1947) where she played a plainspoken party gal and had a nice moment where she reveals her real feelings. That might have been the scene that sealed the Oscar deal for her, but sadly I couldn’t find it… but I did come across something else. The clip above is lifted from Champagne for Caesar (1950), a comedy she made with Ronald Colman and Vincent Price. Take a look at the first scene where she blows off Colman; funny, and done with great sex appeal.
According to CNN, Holm was admitted to a New York hospital a week ago. Last Friday, her husband took her home and she passed today in the company of her family and friends.
