Male stripper Mike Lane (Channing Tatum) introduces Adam (Alex Pettyfer), a 19-year-old slacker, to his craft; “The Kid” becomes a hit, but keeping him away from trouble is more of a challenge. A story that was based on Tatum’s own past as a stripper in Tampa, and his charm is one reason to watch the movie. Steven Soderbergh keeps it snappy and entertaining for a long while, and Matthew McConaughey is clearly having fun as the cocky owner of the Xquisite strip club… but every cliché here is easily predicted and some of the acting is less than stellar.
