THERE WERE THREE PEOPLE IN HER MARRIAGE.
In the late 1700s, Georgiana (Keira Knightley) marries the terminally cold Duke of Devonshire (Ralph Fiennes); when she befriends Lady Bess Foster (Hayley Atwell), she has no idea how it will change her marriage… The real-life story of an ancestor to Princess Diana has similarities to her situation after marrying Charles; the unusual arrangement Georgiana eventually found herself in is obviously intriguing. Worth a look because of opulent period design, the costumes and good performances. The story reflects the values of its time and stays engaging, even if it never reaches great heights.
