WE ALL LIVE OR WE ALL DIE.
In 1952, Bernard Webber (Chris Pine) is one of the Coast Guard crewmen heading out into a nor’easter to save the crew of an oil tanker that’s been cut in half by the storm. A reality-based disaster movie in the same vein as The Perfect Storm (2000), which also took place in the dark waters off the coast of Massachusetts. The storm is staged in full force, as expected, but the filmmakers lack the ability to raise real tension out of this dramatic scenario. One reason is dull characters, especially Pine’s; he’s such an angel you fall asleep just watching him.
