The Kennedys: After Camelot

Six years after The Kennedys came this follow-up, which focuses on Jacqueline Kennedy’s (Katie Holmes) life after the murder of her husband, as she falls in love with Greek shipping tycoon Ari Onassis (Alexander Siddig); and Ted Kennedy (Matthew Perry), who’s battling his own demons and the burden of being part of a family where you are expected to run for president. Shallow writing and a need to cram into the script every single dramatic event in the history of the Kennedy family over 25 years sink this miniseries, along with unconvincing performances, especially from Perry.

2017-U.S. Made for TV. 176 min. Color. Directed by Jon Cassar, Katie Holmes. Cast: Katie Holmes (Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis), Matthew Perry (Ted Kennedy), Diana Hardcastle (Rose Kennedy), Kristen Hager, Kristin Booth, Alexander Siddig… Barry Pepper, Tom Wilkinson.

Trivia: Co-executive produced by Cassar, Holmes and Perry. Shown in either two or four episodes.
