The third miniseries in this franchise follows the same template as the others, but this time the journey takes Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon to Spain. You certainly know what you’re getting by now, and the fine dining is as attractive as ever. There’s something satisfying and enjoyable in watching these guys take a break from life and wing it over a meal and a glass of wine… but as in previous chapters, their frantic competition and imitations turn into painful repetition at times, especially whenever a woman joins them. Still, there’s an attractive tinge of sadness here and impersonations of Mick Jagger and Roger Moore are standouts.
2017-Britain. Made for TV. 173 min. Color. Directed by Michael Winterbottom. Cast: Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon.
