IT’S DEJA GROOM ALL OVER AGAIN.
On the day that he’s getting married, Rob Anderson (Marlon Wayans) wakes up buck naked in an elevator and has to try to get to church on time; this scenario is magically repeated over and over. A remake of a Swedish 2000 low-budget comedy that looks a bit more polished, but is still equally inane. As in Groundhog Day (1993), our hero learns how to master his unfortunate situation, and the filmmakers try to add sweetness. Wayans is working his butt off, but the movie becomes too repetitious, with dull jokes.
2017-U.S. 96 min. Color. Directed by Michael Tiddes. Cast: Marlon Wayans (Rob Anderson), Regina Hall (Megan Swope), J.T. Jackson (Benny Doyle), Scott Foley, Loretta Devine, Dennis Haysbert.
Trivia: Co-produced by Wayans. Released straight to Netflix.
