Game Night

When Max and Annie (Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams) go to his brother’s (Kyle Chandler) house for game night, they have no idea that things are about to become unsettlingly real… The directors behind Vacation (2015) deliver a comedy that may remind audiences of Date Night (2010), where another highly undramatic social event turns into an evening of possibly life-threatening thrills. Bateman and McAdams are brilliant as a loving but fiercely competitive couple. The adventure is entertaining; fun dialogue and supporting players, including Jesse Plemons as a stone-faced cop. A few nifty visuals reinforce the feeling of a game.
