When high-school dropout Teddy Walker (Kevin Hart) sees his chance at financial security literally blow up, he decides to go to night school. The first comedy where Hart wrote the script (together with many others) doesn’t have much to offer as far as the story goes. For some lame reason, Teddy has to keep his admirable new project a secret from his fiancée, and there’s also a long, dumb sequence where he and his classmates break into school to get their hands on the answers to a test. Hart and Tiffany Haddish are full of energy, but there’s too much mugging as jokes fall flat.
